About :
Esther Boesche’s return to New York City, after a year filled with projects and events in Europe, in the spring of 2022 marked a new chapter filled with hope and creativity. Inspired by the vibrant, almost-normal summer that followed the pandemic, she channeled her experiences into a captivating series of collages titled “Something Like Summer.” This collection of works on paper captures the essence of the American summer, celebrating themes of hope, friendship, and community.
Boesche’s artwork reflects the magic of summer nights, where the stars shine brightly, and the air carries the salty taste of the ocean. Her work evoke the sensation of adventure saturated joy after a day at the beach and the thrill of road trips under a golden sun. Summer in the United States is portrayed as a sacred time when people emerge from their winter cocoons to bask in the warm, healing light of the sun.
Through “Something Like Summer,” Boesche invites viewers to immerse themselves in the radiant joy of the season. Her art serves as a meditation on the beauty of American summers, the resilience of its people, and the serene splendor of long summer nights. The series is a heartfelt call to embrace the light, find solace in community, and celebrate the simple, yet profound, moments of summer.
